Committee Votes To Push For New Animal Shelter In Springfield
Edging closer to a new animal shelter for Springfield...
The 'Animal Issues Task Force' met this week, taking a formal vote to recommend the city start the process of creating a new facility.
Health department spokesman Mike Brothers says the task force is also digging deeper into the reality of 'pet licensing' for Springfield, which is hopes would ultimately encourage spay and neutering.
The task force meetings are open to the public. You can follow-up on what happened through a blog set up by the city. To see the notes of earlier meetings, click here.
