More than six hours after the manhunt began, authorities in Taney County have captured the barefoot bandit believed to have held up the First Home Savings Bank in Kissee Mills.

Sheriff Jimmie Russell tells KTTS News deputies and highway patrol troopers tracked the man to Beaver creek about seven miles from the bank. After a brief struggle, the man wearing a tee shirt on his head was taken to the Taney County Jail.

The suspect identified as a 43 year old man from Kissee Mills walked into the bank and demanded money be put into a bag. He told the teller he had a gun but never showed one. He then left on foot.
