Extension Cord Sparks Springfield House Fire

An overloaded extension cord is blamed for starting a fire that damaged a home in Springfield.
It happened before noon near Douglas and Monroe.
Firefighters say the flames started in the basement of the home.
Fire investigators say a man was treated for smoke inhalation and minor injuries to his hands.
