Springfield City Council To Consider Kraft Bond Issue
Springfield city council is expected to vote tonight on the plan for a bond-funded expansion of the Kraft plant.
Kraft is asking the city for millions in bonds to help pay for a series of upgrades, including new equipment and product lines.
A "yes" vote tonight will only approve the industrial plan itself.
The bonds would have to be issued at a future council session.
The Kraft plant employs about a thousand workers.
