Nearly every fire department in Greene County is working a large wildfire southwest of Walnut Grove.

The Assistant Fire Chief with Ash Grove tells KTTS News it started in an open field off Farm Road 33 and was quickly spread east by the wind. They say it was around 80 acres initially, but has grown quite a bit.

Word has come in about several houses along and near Farm Road 43 being evacuated as a precaution. There have been reports of several homes and structures already lost to fire.

KTTS News has a reporter headed to the area.
