Man Guilty Of Killing Arkansas Cop
PARAGOULD, Ark. (AP) - An Arkansas man has been convicted of capital murder for killing a police officer who begged him not to shoot. A jury found 38 year old Jerry Lard guilty of killing Truman police officer Jonathan Schmidt during an April 2011 traffic stop. Prosecutors are seeking the death penalty for Lard who could be sentenced today.
