Thunderstorms And Severe Weather Possible In The Ozarks
The National Weather Service office in Springfield says isolated to scattered thunderstorms will impact mainly central Missouri this morning.
Scattered to numerous thunderstorms will develop across the Ozarks this afternoon ahead of an approaching front.
Some of the storms will become strong to severe, with damaging downburst winds in excess of 60 MPH and frequent lighting will also be primary hazards.
Heat index values will climb into the upper 90s to around 103 degrees from midday into the afternoon hours.
Daily afternoon temperatures and heat index values will range from the mid 90s to near 102 degrees Friday through next Wednesday.
The fire weather risk will remain limited to elevated across the region through next Tuesday.
