CARL JUNCTION, Mo. (AP) - A fire broke out at a rural home in southwest Missouri, killing one woman.
Carl Junction Fire Chief Bill Dunn tells The Joplin Globe that the fire was reported early Monday at the home in rural Jasper County. Dunn says when firefighters arrived the front of the residence was heavily involved in flames.
The body of Kristi Stockam was discovered inside the door. The fire chief didn't have an age for the victim.
He says the cause of the fire is under investigation.
