Remains Of Unclaimed Veteran Interred At Springfield State Veterans Cemetery
A US military veteran who died in 2009 has been laid to rest in Springfield State Veterans Cemetery.
When Romualdas Prenskas died at his home in Arkansas, no family claimed his remains, and his wife has passed on earlier.
Missouri law allows funeral homes to give unclaimed remains to veterans service organizations, so the Patriot Guard Riders made sure the man they never knew, had a proper burial.
The service included full military honors and an American flag provided by the Patriot Guard Riders.
Prenskas was born in Lithuania, became a US citizen and served in the military in the 1960s.
