ST. LOUIS (AP) - A St. Louis man has been convicted in the shooting death of a 7-year-old girl struck by random gunfire while on a housing complex playground. KSDK-TV reports that 49-year-old Elvis Smith was found guilty of murder on Thursday and faces sentencing later this month. The shooting happened in May 2011. Authorities say Smith was shooting at another man following an argument over a drug deal. One of the bullets struck J'Nylah Douglas. She died several days later.
