Grass Fire Burns 300+ Acres In Lawrence County
Fire has charred several hundred acres of farmland in Lawrence County.
Sheriff Brad Delay tells KTTS News he's pretty sure it was accidental, something like a brush-hog hitting a rock - but, all it takes is a spark when conditions are this dry. He says the grass is just like kindling.
Delay says as many as eight different fire departments were working on the flames northeast of Freistatt. He says there were some close calls, but no homes or barns have been damaged.
