Governor Jay Nixon will get a first hand look at how bad the drought conditions are in the Ozarks when he visits a farm in Polk County today.

Nixon will tour the Monty Wheeler family farm on 115th Road in Bolivar.

It's one of three farms he's visiting to survey crop and land damage.  At each stop he's being joined by the Missouri Department of Agriculture Director Dr. Jon Hagler.

The state is still awaiting a decision from the USDA on a disaster declaration request the state filed last week.
