Springfield Cardinal Trevor Rosenthal Called Up To Majors
Instead of getting ready for his next start at Double-A, a pitcher for the Springfield Cardinals is hopping a plane for Milwaukee after getting called up to the big leagues. Trevor Rosenthal has made 17 starts this season with an 8-6 record and a 2.78 ERA that ranks second in the Texas League.
Rosenthal becomes just the third player to go straight from Springfield to St. Louis. The other two were catcher Steven Hill and pitcher Maikel Cleto. Ironically, Cleto was optioned to Memphis today to make room for Rosenthal.
Rosenthal will wear uniform #64 and his first appearance will be his Major League debut.
