(Missourinet) -  A disaster commission headed by Missouri Lt. Governor Peter Kinder has begun its work to see how the state responded to last year's disasters that devastated the state of Missouri.

Kinder says the commission wants to make sure that the resources the state allocated are producing the results they should for the people of Missouri.

Kinder says he's not critical of the state's response, he says there are lessons to be learned and he wants to find out if we could do better.
