A man from Reeds Spring who tried to light his wife on fire has been sentenced to seven years in prison.

The Stone County Prosecutor says Dwayne D. James accused his wife in May of using drugs then sprayed her with WD-40 and attempted to use a cigarette lighter to set her on fire.

When that didn't work, the man started beating her on the head..

Officials say she was punched on the top of her head four or five times.

James was already on parole for drug and credit card fraud convictions.
