VALLEY PARK, Mo. (AP) - The embattled mayor of a St. Louis County town was apparently treated at a hospital for methamphetamine abuse.
That's according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, which obtained hospital discharge documents for Valley Park Mayor Nathan Grellner.
The documents from CenterPointe Hospital in Weldon Spring show the 27-year-old mayor was admitted on June 8 and checked out on June 11. Grellner declined to comment.
Grellner's stay at the hospital began two days after he was arrested in Byrnes Mill on suspicion of driving while intoxicated and resisting arrest.
St. Louis County police are investigating Grellner for possible misuse of public funds. And until earlier this month, Grellner had not shown up at an aldermanic meeting since February.
