Fire crews called to a dumpster fire on west College in Springfield arrived to find the flames had spread to a shed where motor oil was being stored.  Quick work by firefighters prevent any further damage.

A battalion chief says investigators are following up on reports from neighbors about seeing people near that dumpster behind West Side Automotive before the fire was reported.

A nearby building had been threatened by the flames but firefighters were able to run a hose across the alley and keep it out of harms way.

There was no one at the business when the fire started. There were no injuries.
