Joined by Missouri's two US senators,Governor Jay Nixon is asking the USDA for a disaster declaration covering every county in the state. A spokesman for the Farm Services Agency says the drought has wiped out any chance for a hay crop and more than half the corn crop has been lost. The order would make producers eligible for emergency loans and other financial assistance.
