Kansas City Rolling Out The Red Carpet For All Stars
A red carpet stretches down more than 4500 feet in Kansas City's historic Country Club Plaza and the fountains have turned All Star blue as the city prepares for tonight's Major League Baseball All Star Game.
An All Star parade is getting underway at 1pm at the corner of Ward Parkway and Wornall Road, and winding its way to Nichols Road and Central Street. Leading the way is Kansas City Royals Hall of Famer George Brett, who is serving as the parade's Grand Marshal.
All members of the 2012 American and National League All Star teams are in the parade, as well as N-L Manager Tony LaRussa and A-L Manager Ron Washington.
The players are riding in 75 Chevrolet Silverado trucks through the streets of Kansas City.
The parade leads up to tonight's 83rd Midsummer Classic, which gets underway just after 7pm at Kauffman Stadium. KTTS.com will have complete coverage of tonight's game.
