State Auditor Follows Up On Springfield School Audit
90 days after the state auditor released his review for the R-12 School District, a follow up meeting in Springfield focused on 20 priority issues.
School Board President Dr. Tom Prater tells KTTS News, the auditor is pleased with progress being made in the search for an internal auditor as well as efforts to shore up the self funded health insurance plan for employees.
There are still problems in the way book keepers monitor spending and various fee collections, but Prater says many of those concerns will be met when the district hires its own auditor.
Monday's preliminary review will be followed by a more detailed written progress report in four to six weeks.
