JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (AP) - A St. Louis Republican governor candidate has contributed another $50,000 for his campaign bank account.
Online campaign finance records show that Fred Sauer made the contribution last Friday. Sauer now has given his gubernatorial campaign $260,000 in contributions of at least $5,000.
Sauer founded the Missouri Roundtable for Life and has opposed embryonic stem cell research. The organization successfully challenged a recently approved state fund designed to offer incentives to science and technology companies.
He is among the candidates competing in the Republican primary on Aug. 7 to challenge Democratic Gov. Jay Nixon's re-election effort.
