Hay Shortage Is Severe In Missouri
(Missourinet) - The shortage of hay in Missouri has reached critical levels, with the USDA saying, "there is virtually no hay available in Missouri."
Cattlemen have been sending their herds to market early.
The head of the state cattlemen's association says producers are paying through the nose for what hay they can find in Missouri or elsewhere.
The same experts say if things continue, it could drive the nation's cattle herds to their lowest level in 60 years.
