The most recent liquor compliance check by the city of Branson shows 75 out of 95 businesses that sell or serve alcohol were following the rules.

City officials say this is an improvement.

The Fourth of July compliance check was 82% - the same time last year it was a 73% rate.

Officials say they are glad to see the improvement with the random compliance checks, that clerks are checking IDs to make sure booze is not falling into the hands of minors.

Minors who worked with police were able to buy packaged liquor in only 3 of 23 stores checked and were able to buy a drink of alcohol in 13 of 68 restaurants checked.
