Update: Lights Back On For More Springfield CU Customers
(eidited news release)
CU And Other Crews Work Overnight
Springfield City Utilities crews, assisted by contract crews from the Tulsa area, worked overnight to restore power to customers affected from Saturday afternoons storm.
Approximately 150 outages remained in the system as of sunrise Sunday.
The microburst storms that impacted Springfield and Greene county did significant damage to portions of CU's system with the largest area affected being in the eastern part of our territory.
Downed lines, broken poles, and numerous transformers have been replaced and crews remain in the field at this hour making repairs.
We anticipate having power restored to all customers who can accept power by early afternoon.
At this point repairs are taking place in areas that are more difficult to access which in turn takes longer to make restoration efforts possible.
In the event a customer experienced a power outage and has not yet reported it to CU, they should call 1-888-863-9001 to report the outage.
Thanks for your assistance in helping to inform our customers and we also wish to thank our customers for their patience.
