Areas In Taney County See Significant Storm Damage

Saturday afternoon as storms and much needed rain came to the area, several areas in Western Taney County were damaged from thunderstorm winds.

Bull Creek Village was one area which got significant damage. Several trees fell on power lines and peoples homes. Firefighters from Western Taney County worked in the village to remove limbs and trees from homes and roads to provide access to emergency vehicles and power crews.

In addition to Bull Creek village, there were also lines down reported in Hollister where a power pole was broken by storm winds. Also, firefighters were called to a grass fire off of Hwy 176 in the Walnut Shade area, which was reportedly started by lightning from the storms.

At last report, power crews were in the affected areas working to restore power and road crews were working to finish removing storm debris from roadways.
