FORT SMITH, Ark. (AP) - An attorney for the Arkansas man charged with killing a teenager and hiding her body in a barrel wants to delay his upcoming trial. The Southwest Times Record reports (http://is.gd/X8uOki ) that Deputy Public Defender Rita Watkins asked a judge to delay the trial for 36-year-old Lloyd Jones. Jones is charged with first-degree murder and abuse of a corpse in the February death of 16-year-old Angela Allen of Van Buren. Watkins says she needs more time to prepare because of the seriousness of the charges. Prosecutors say they'll oppose the motion, noting the trial has already been pushed back once to Sept. 17. Judge Stephen Tabor has not yet ruled on the motion. A preliminary autopsy says Allen was strangled. Her body was found in a barrel in Lavaca.
