Car Smashes Into Springfield Apartment Building

A loud boom jolted people living at the Fairview Studio Apartments across the street from the Ozark Empire Fairgrounds.
Springfield police say that loud boom was a car hitting the building at 1116 West Norton Road between Broadway and Fort.
The building is said to have been knocked about 12 inches from its foundation, and the manager evacuated the building for a while so fire crews and building inspectors could look things over.
Police were sent searching for the driver of the car.
No one was hurt.
