Homeless advocates in Springfield, led by the Reverend Larry Rice,  are continuing their efforts to find an acre of ground in the city so New Life Evangelistic Center can lease a tent community and worship center.

The ALEC will be using the Battlefield Mall as a cooling center for the homeless, and they are encouraging the homeless to apply for employment while they're at the mall.

Rice and some homeless people will meet with reporters at the site of their former tent city on North Jefferson this morning at 10:30.
