Stone County Firefighters Too Busy For Fireworks Ban

There will be no fireworks ban in Stone County, even though a couple of fires have been caused by pyrotechnics.
Eric Nielsen with Southern Stone County fire says firefighters are simply too busy with other calls to enforce a ban.
He says it makes more sense to answer fire calls as they happen.
But he says Stone County firefighters are most concerned about tourists, who seem to shoot off the most fireworks in the county. He says they may not know where they are if they start a fire.
He's reminding everyone to keep water close by, and call 911 if you start a fire.
