Marionville Officer On Paid Leave Following Fatal Shooting
A man is dead and a police officer on paid leave following a shooting in Marionville over the weekend.
Authorities say it started with a woman being held against her will. An officer came to the apartment, where the man responsible tried to attack him with scissors.
Police Chief Mark Webb says he doesn't second guess the quick decision the officer had to make about firing his gun.
The officer is on administrative leave while the Highway Patrol wraps up the investigation.
The victim is only identified as being 37 and from Springfield. Authorities won't release his name until they can reach his family.
