Authorities in Atlanta say a man from Springfield charged with child sex abuse was arrested at an airport there Friday night.

KSPR-TV reports US Marshalls say Antonio Alburquerque was talked into giving up by family members after traveling to several countries including Chile, Panama, and the Dominican Republic.

Alburquerque left Springfield after posting a $50,000 bond without a hearing requested by the prosecutor's office.

Officials blame a clerical error as the reason why the former Federal Medical Center worker was allowed to go free without a monitoring device or having to give up his passport.
