Update: Electrical Short Caused Fire In Battlefield
Flames were already in the ceiling of a home on South Louise, near Sandy and Williams Streets in Battlefield when crews arrived around 9:30 p.m. on Thursday.
Officials say an electrical short touched off the fire.
Nobody was hurt, and the home had working smoke detectors.
Crews from Springfield, Nixa and Republic helped Battlefield firefighters put out the fire.
Damage was mostly in the attic, roof and rafters.
