Forsyth Mayor Resigns
The mayor of Forsyth has called it quits.
Mayor Ron Potter's letter of resignation comes just weeks after a critical state audit cited the city's growing financial problems and warned of a shrinking general fund.
Potter didn't mention the audit in his letter of resignation. He said he was tired of working 60 hour weeks without pay and wanted to get his life back.
Alderwoman Cheryl Altis is serving as interim mayor until a new election is held next April.
