The terribly dry conditions have firefighters across the Ozarks cringing as we head into the Fourth of July holiday.

Springfield Assistant Fire Chief Randy Vilines reminds us that fireworks are illegal in the city limits, but people try it anyway.  You could get a ticket.

He says one bottlerocket could set a field or house on fire.

There are burn bans in affect in Rolla and Bolivar.
