Update: Shooting Victim Turns Down Medical Help
A party in the 3400 block of South Juniper in Springfield had been over for a while when one man was shot as he left the house near Hoke Avenue.
Police say when they got to the scene the man, who had been shot in the knee said he did not want to go to the hospital.
Lieutenant Vance Holland tells KTTS News since the victim's injury was not life-threatening that was hit right to refuse medical treatment.
Witnesses have said the two men had been arguing during the party.
The shooter had left and was waiting in a car when the victim walked outside.
The suspect, described as a black male with a red shirt over a white tank top sped off to the south in a silver-colored car.
