15 Years In Prison For Dragging Officer
(AP) - A Kansas City man who dragged a police officer with his car was sentenced to 15 years in prison.
Thursday's sentence for 24-year-old Demario R. Bello came after he pleaded guilty to assaulting Parkville police Capt. Jon Jordan last July 31.
Police say Jordan stopped Bello for having expired plates and outstanding arrest warrants. Jordan and Bello struggled and the officer was dragged by the car until it hit a pole.
The Kansas City Star reports police say they found cocaine in Bello's car.
Prosecutors say Jordan still suffers from a head injury and has not been able to return to active duty.
