Springfield Convention Bureau Closing Main Center On Battlefield
Changing times, and technology are sounding the death knell for the Springfield Convention and Visitors Bureau's Main tourism center at Highway 65 and Battlefield Road.
Fewer people have been stopping by, and more are using the Internet and their smartphones to find out what Springfield and the Ozarks have to offer.
The center will close in October.
The CVB will be keeping visitor centers at the Springfield-Branson National Airport and the one downtown open.
