(AP) -  An appeals court has upheld an $813,000 damage award for a former prison inmate in Arkansas who sued the federal government after he had to wait a month for treatment of a broken ankle and fibula.

The U.S 8th Circuit Court of Appeals turned away government arguments that the judgment for Jose Luis Gonzalez was excessive.
