Heat Related Cases Already In Springfield
It's getting to be that time of the year.
The Springfield-Greene County health department says there have already been a dozen cases of heat related illness sending folks to the ER for treatment - and we haven't even reached peak summer temperature extremes yet.
The department says never leave your kids or pets alone in a vehicle even for a short period of time, since a car can heat up to over 100 degrees in about 20 minutes.
Heat exhaustion is the most common heat related illness and can lead to dehydration.
