Springfield City Council To Weigh Kraft Foods Expansion Proposal
New developments in cheese and pasta products are in the works for Kraft Foods in Springfield, if it can convince City Council to issue a series of bonds.
Tonight, the company will make a formal appeal for up to 55-million in industrial development revenue bonds. Kraft would get a break on the property tax for new equipment that's purchased with the bond money.
City Council will take first reading on the bill tonight.
