Greene County Jury Convicts Man In Rape Case
A man from Springfield has been found guilty of statutory rape.
Greene County prosecutors say 34-year-old Brian Manuel Southern's trial lasted three days and the jury deliberated six hours before convicting him.
Southern will be sentenced August 17th, and he could wind up in prison for five years.
Southern has several prior felony convictions for resisting arrest, being a convicted felon in the possession of a weapon, and second-degree drug trafficking.
The victim in the statutory rape case was 12-years-old.
