Council Sends Smoking Ban Back To Voters
Voters will see the smoking ban issue on the ballot again in June.The Springfield City Council first voted down a motion to amend the ban. However they unanimously voted to send the ban back to voters.
Public meetings had been held to discuss the issue. One Air Alliance, the group supporing the ban, had offered serveral compromises in an effort to prevent a repeal but Live Free Springfield, the group wanting to see it repealed, said that it was not enough.
