MSU Bears Ahead 29-25 At The Half Over Bradley

The MSU Bears have taken a 29-25 halftime lead over the Bradley Braves in Missouri Valley Conference basketball action at JQH Arena.

After Kyle Weems scored the first five points of the game to put the Bears ahead 5-0, Bradley took its first lead with 11:17 left in the half on a three pointer by Dyricus Simms-Edwards that made it 12-11 Braves.

The teams traded baskets and the lead four times in the half, and after a 17-17 tie, the Bears went on a 12-0 run to go up 29-17 with 3:53 remaining.

But Bradley got going, scoring the final eight points of the half, including Simms-Edwards' second three pointer of the game.

Caleb Patterson has seven points at the half to lead MSU in scoring, followed by Anthony Downing Nathan Scheer with six points each and Kyle Weems has five. Walt Lemon, Junior has nine points to lead the Braves, with Simms-Edwards putting in eight.

The Bears come into today's game in third place in the Valley with a conference mark of 8-6. They're 15-11 overall. Bradley, who's only won one road game this season, is 7-19 overall, 2-12 in the MVC.
