Blue Springs Coach Charged With Molesting Girls

(AP) - A 43-year-old soccer coach in Blue Springs has been charged with molesting two children on his team.

The Kansas City Star reports that Blue Springs youth soccer coach Richard Burroughs was charged Friday with child molestation and sodomy for inappropriate touching of two girls on his team.

Prosecutors also charged Burroughs with sexual assault.

Burroughs denied the allegations during interviews with police.  His lawyer, P.J. O'Connor, declined comment Friday.

Bond was set at $125,000 cash only. Burroughs is scheduled to appear in court Wednesday.
