Trial In Baby's Death Delayed
(AP) - A man from southwest Missouri accused of killing his infant son has had his trial delayed for a fourth time.
Eddie Salazar, from Carthage, had been scheduled to go on trial next week on a charge of second-degree murder.
KYTV reports a judge granted the defense more time to do its own tests on DNA evidence.
Salazar touched off an Amber Alert in February 2010 when he told police he had been beaten unconscious by two masked intruders who abducted his son, Eddie Salazar Jr.
The baby's body was recovered two days later in the Spring River, east of Carthage.
An autopsy found the baby suffered a fractured skull. He was only eight-months-old.
Salazar is now scheduled to stand trial in March in Jasper County Circuit Court.
