FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (AP) - Tyson Foods Inc. is nearing completion of a $7 million expansion of its Mexican Original tortilla plant in Fayetteville and plans to hire an additional 60 workers.
The Springdale-based company said Thursday that the hiring is to begin in January. The plant already has 500 workers.
The facility is to run for three shifts and will have new machinery.
The renovation involved 120,000 square feet of floor space.
Tyson Foods produces tortillas at two other plants, in Portland, Indiana, and Sanford, N.C.
The company says its Mexican Original brand is the second-largest in the nation. The line is sold to foodservice and restaurant customers.
