(AP) - A Missouri based company plans to reopen a shuttered ethanol plant in eastern Nebraska in the coming months.

The former E3 biofuels plant began in June 0f 2007 as one of the first in the nation to use methane gas from cow manure to power production.

However, the facility near Mead shut down later that year after the company filed for bankruptcy.

The plant was sold a year ago to Spectrum Business Ventures Inc.

A spokesman says the company will need up to 75 employees.
