Protestors Outside Springfield City Hall Say Tent City Is Needed
Chanting "... what do we want?... tent city!... what do we need?... tent city" less than a dozen people marched from the Salvation Army to Springfield City Hall.
They were protesting an order the city gave to the Reverend Larry Rice that he take down a tent city for the homelss that had been on his veterans center property. The city says the Veterans Coming Home Center is not zoned for a tent city.
Mike Beebe marched with the group saying just because they are homeless they shouldn't be treated like everybody else.
He also wondered just because they would rather live in a tent or out of their car shows they have less rights than people who live in houses or mobile homes.
