(AP) - Severe thunderstorms knocked a tree onto a highway but otherwise left no damage or injuries as they rolled across parts of western Arkansas.

The National Weather Service issued tornado warnings for Logan, Scott and Yell counties late Monday. Sheriff's departments in Logan and Scott counties said no touchdowns were confirmed.

Yell County emergency management coordinator Jeff Gilkey says no tornadoes were reported there, but crews had to block access to roads that were overrun with water from heavy rains.

In Little River County, strong winds knocked a tree onto Arkansas Highway 41 between Winthrop and Horatio. The sheriff's office said there were no other reports of damage in the county or
injuries.

A tornado watch was in effect until early Tuesday for 23 counties in western and central Arkansas.
