Car-Train Crash In Kansas City Kills 1
(AP) - One person was killed after a freight train collided with a car outside Kansas City.
The Kansas City Star reports that the train hit the car early Sunday in Independence. Police said the accident occurred when the driver of the car drove around a flashing railroad gate.
A female passenger was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the car and another passenger, both male, were taken to a hospital. Police haven't released the victims' identities.
